The Chippewa County Foster Care Program has become very close to Robin and Brian’s hearts. Having experienced serving foster children first hand, the Kelley family feels compelled to support the many other Chippewa County families who choose to open their hearts and homes to children who need a safe place to call home.
A total gift of $5,000 was provided, of which $1,000 of this was in the form of general gift cards for necessities such as clothing and toiletries to children who have transitioned. $1,000 was provided for children who are in foster or kinship programs, but also considered at-risk as a normalcy fund. Children will use this money for sports or activities, school trips, tutoring, driver’s ed, camps…etc. The remaining $3,000 will be set aside for families who would like to do special activities. This is for things that cost money and are difficult for some families to afford such as water parks, skiing and snow tubing, amusement parks, bowling, movies…etc. We hope this money will make a positive difference in the lives of families who have taken on so much.
Brian and Robin recently met with Chippewa County Human Services staff to present $1,000 worth of gift cards and an additional $4,000 in funds for the Chippewa County Foster Care Program.
