Shawn and Tim Curtis (parents of Kya from Troop #3055) along with Kelly and Russ Albert (parents of Sophia from Troop #3055) chose to combine donations to provide $10,000 to Monarch House Peer Run Respite in Menomonie.
Monarch House is a voluntary, non-medical overnight program for people who are experiencing mental health and substance use related crises or any other emotionally distressing challenges. Its mission is to provide a supportive, home-like environment where people can explore, discover, and direct their path to healing and wholeness with support of team members who also have similar lived experiences and challenges.
Monarch House is free of charge for any Wisconsin resident over the age of 18. Upon arrival, guests have access to the common areas and their private bedrooms equipped with key code locks and lock boxes. Guests are also welcome to utilize pantry items to cook meals, explore various healing modalities, and utilize 24/7 peer support.
