Keri (Jayna’s Aunt) and Jordy (Jayna’s cousin) chose Tranquil Acres Produce & Lavender in Tomahawk as one of their recipients. Tranquil Acres is a project of love created by Bill & Heather Smith: 5 acres (so far) of vegetable gardens plus wildflowers, walking trails, and lavender that is open to anyone to come “pick what you need, pay what you can afford, and be kind.”

2023 was the Smith’s second year of plowing, planting, watering, and weeding the gardens surrounding their home, inviting the public to come spend time with them and connect with nature and their food, and encouraging them to take home whatever they might need. Keri and Jordy have visited several times for fresh corn, tomatoes, pumpkins, and carrots (Jordy’s favorite).

The $5,250 will go towards the purchase and installation of a much-needed irrigation system and the addition of more sunflowers, which remind the Kelleys of Jayna.
